Made in the Unfolding

And so, disappointment appears.

Like an ache, like a sunburn or a sprain. Hardly fatal but all-consuming.

We hear the echo, we taste the bitter, it comes in and makes a home in our bones until we believe that it is this that we are made of.

What is the remedy for this dull hurt? for this debilitating song playing over and over? Could it be that our unmet desire was our salvation? Could it be that what we so strongly believed would build us, make us & fill us, could have been our destruction?

Instead, we are met with great grace in the unmet desires of our hearts.

Instead, we are presented with another chance to yield to the great unknowing, to surrender to the design.

Let the beauty unfold as you whisper “thank you” in the blistering wind, for it is here that we are made,

in the unfolding.
