MAY

I am starting a new series of monthly inspiration with seasonal flare. In other words: what you should read, watch, listen to, buy, etc. in the month of May…

May is our summer aperitivo. An aperitivo is a beverage consumed prior to a meal with the intention of stimulating the appetite. May comes and whets our whistle for the sweet summer ahead. Be mindful to savor this month because it, too, is sweet and the anticipation of things to come might just be better than the actual things themselves. No one says it quite as eloquently as Winnie the Pooh:

“ ‘Well,’ said Pooh, ‘what I like best…’ and he had to stop and think. Because eating honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment before you began to eat it which is better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

Well I do...it's called May.
