Dear, Words
Dear, Words
Thank you
for wrapping my thoughts up in bows
you give the inanimate life and sound
You draw the lines, you set the stage,
you build up in beautiful ways
for the way you move
you join together, you set apart, you open doors and set things free
you dance your way into my heart and make a way for me to see
you wrestle, there, in your effortless way & cause me to ask more
you change me and charge me until I’m no longer the same anymore
for the pictures you paint, for the stories you write
you bring joy to the comings and goings,
the dark and the light
the pain and healing, the vivid and dull
you make it far better, you make it more full
for teaching me to listen, for teaching me to learn
you kindle a need to create, to burn
for letting me be known
you bring the inner out to light and show what need be shown
you’re everything, you’re nothing
sometimes you don’t show up
sometimes you help to hide
but there is a solace you provide
sometimes you bring deception and sometimes you bring defeat
but then I sit in silence and see i need you like my own two feet
You, the great carrier—
of destruction and of life
bringing water just as easily as you bring knife.
let me see you as you are
containing both the simple and bizarre.
I try to weigh you pound for pound
you, the great carrier, are in the business making things found.
