JUNE

With a latin root meaning young, June reminds us of an undying youth that persists in the recesses of our hearts, long after adolescence.

The hot days, watermelon, getaways, and even fathers day tug at that internal child. We begin to gravitate toward the well-spent days of our youth, where our goals were created and met within the span of a day and our appetite for learning was just as insatiable as our quest for thrills.

June, thank you for reminding me of that kid. The original version. The one that hasn’t been obscured by social obligation, worldly worries, or self sabotage. The one that delights in the simplicity of existence and recognizes miracles in everyday occurrences. You are a gift and you come, so beautifully packaged, just as I begin to need you.

May the spirit of June alleviate the ever-increasing weight of accumulated days and keep you young at heart.

Oh June,

Frankie said it best…you make me feel so young!

1. Listen to Tu Vuo’ Fa L’Americano when you get dressed, when you have an afternoon stretch, when you cook dinner, and whenever you want to get the party started…the Italian way:

2. More espresso...la pavoni style

3. Become friends with someone who plays the saxophone...or listen to a lot of 60s music & saxophone covers
